Series: This is Us

It has been a tough week. Like many of you, I have been deeply disturbed by the violence in Israel and Gaza over the last week. A warning - this week’s message will not be rated ‘G’. We will discuss terrorism, violence, and what our Christian response to evil should be. Jesus instructed us to be a city on a hill (Matthew 5:14), an example, and as wise as a serpent and as innocent as a dove’ (Matthew 10:16). This Sunday, Munger will explore the meaning of both and how we navigate our world while staying faithful to the Gospel.

The Extra Mile: Read the entire book of Amos. Much of it is poetry - the language of the prophets - but in a way like few others the prophet Amos captures that our God is a God of justice. Corruption in any form is not to be tolerated in the book of Amos, and it is because such injustice robs from those who need help the most. Dr. Martin Luther King quoted from Amos often because of his insistence that we cannot only worship we must do what is right.

Scripture: Amos 5:18-24
