Things Not to Pray: Thank God I am not Like You

September 4, 2022

Series: Luke

In Luke 18:9-14, Jesus paints a picture of two people; one, a rich egotistical Pharisee and the other a humble tax collector. One has status, wealth, and power and the other a humble heart. Jesus obviously, prefers the latter but a hidden question in the parable is what if the two were combined? What would a blessed, gifted, generous woman or man with a humble heart open to God look like?
In my mind, that’s you! Try it on - blessed, grateful, humble - it is a combination Jesus would have us find to be a stronger disciple.
