The Shellfish Argument

February 26, 2017

Series: Leviticus

“Unless you follow every Old Testament law, you're a HYPOCRITE!”

Chances are you’ve heard someone online say that unless you plan to follow all of the crazy Old Testament laws, you had better shut up before talking about what the Bible says on this or that issue.

Personally, I don’t know any Christians who refrain from eating shellfish or wearing clothes made of mixed fabrics, but both of those behaviors are proscribed by Levitical law.

Are we hypocrites for following some parts of the Old Testament law, and ignoring other parts?

Which parts of Leviticus are we supposed to follow, and which no longer apply?
