February 19th - "Elijah and Discouragement in the Wilderness"
1 Kings 19
Elijah gets severely discouraged, even after a tremendous spiritual and professional triumph, and illustrates the dangers of thinking it's all about you.

February 26th - "Passing on the Mantle"
2 Kings 2:1-15
Elijah sets up Elisha to succeed him.  Are you working to leave a godly legacy?

Tempted

Temptation. It’s as old as life itself. From Adam, Eve and that tasty apple, to that choice you know you shouldn’t make but sure do want to today. Why is temptation so hard to resist? Why can’t we just put a stop to it? In the month of February, at our 11:00 AM service, we’ll be looking at the Biblical implications of temptation and some ways in which we might just be able to beat it.

February 5th - Tempted?
February 12th - Tempted to Take Control?
February 19th - Tempted to Risk It?
February 26th - Tempted to Cheat?

Ash Wednesday Service

Munger Place Church
7:00-8:00 PM
Wednesday, February 22
Childcare provided.

Ash Wednesday marks the first day of Lent, the 40 period (not including Sundays) that precedes Easter.  During Lent, we remember the privations of Jesus during his time of temptation in the desert, and that before Resurrection, there was the Crucifixion.  Many Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, and spiritual discipline. During our Ash Wednesday service, the minister will lightly rub the sign of the cross with ashes onto the foreheads of worshipers who come forward to receive them.
