Web Administrator (full-time)
Creative Communications
Our goal in the Creative Communications department of HPUMC is to communicate the message of Jesus Christ in a way that is easy, helpful and engaging. The Web Admin is integral to this process, being responsible for the installation, configuration and administration of website applications. This position works collaboratively with our communications director, programmer and members of the communications team and greater staff to assess and address needs related to the websites and content management system.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with team to ensure optimal design, development and maintenance of websites and related systems.
- Work with HPUMC staff to design and develop effective web pages for different ministries; promptly responding to user requests and suggesting changes and updates to keep information fresh and current.
- Proactively maintain website, remaining consistent with brand identity.
- Provide technical and communication support by responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems, bugs or questions with websites.
- Maintain knowledge of emerging technology and trends, and ensure efficient and effective use of web technology and sites.
- Contribute to the establishment of standards and procedures for application design, development and testing. Maintain this information in usable form for the team.

We Require:
- A committed Christian who is comfortable working in a United Methodist church
- Knowledge of web design and development
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Great customer service skills; positive and proactive with a high degree of initiative
- Good organization skills
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors in computer science, electrical engineering or related field preferred, or commensurate experience
- At least 3 years' experience with HTML, CSS and Java Script. Experience with PHP and Ajax technologies a plus
- Experience with Windows and Unix based servers and shell services preferred
- Proven design and development experience with web technology
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, Excel/Pages, RDC, and common Development Tools
- Strong understanding and ability to function in both Mac OS and Windows.
